The Borders Party is not affiliated to any national party because we believe that national politics has no place in local government. We successfully contested the elections to Scottish Borders Council on 3 May 2007 because we are determined to bring the voice of the Borders people back into the Council Chamber. Only The Borders Party takes a long-term view of the Borders, understanding the huge contrast between growth which brings benefits, and badly managed growth which comes at great cost. We see a great future for our region, but only if the direction of Scottish Borders Council is radically changed, otherwise we face irreparable damage.
